Attempt 1 to Steal elemental

Hawk knew that as is was breeding season and guild would have less guards. On one of the darkest nights he crept into the bookstore. The halls were very dark, Hawk went pass rows and rows of different items. Shelves and shelves lines with infusers, pouches, boxes of quills, and a whole room filled with scrolls. He finally came to the correct spot. The door was bolted shut, Hawk grabbed out his lock picking pack and made quick work of the dead bolt. He slowly put the pack away and opened the door. As the door swung open an alarm sounded.

Hawk hurried into the room looking around for the eggs. They were on a glass shelf at the far end of the room. He swam over as quickly as he could. There were 10 bags, he didnt have time to look in them all, he grabbed the one second from the left and swam out of the room. He hoped as he neared the exit he had made it out before the guards arrived.


Outcome
Unfortunately, just as the would be thief was approaching the exit a guard entered, his eyes widened with surprise and he cried out in alarm. Shouts could be heard responding. The only way the thief would escape would be if he were to throw the egg at the guard and flee.
(Hawk has failed to gain an elemental egg)

Second Attempt to Steal an Elemental Egg

For Hawk's second attempt at stealing an egg he decided to enlist a bit of help. Dusk had just had twins and her belly still showed a bit, she would be the perfect cover to make his way to the eggs. They dressed in very fancy clothing, they needed to look like upstanding Seaquines not the rouges that they were. They entered pretending to be adopting a youth. Hawk new all the adoption eggs of all kinds were housed together.

While Dusk was talking up the nursery attendants with the sob story Hawk had concocted for her, he slipped out of the room. Now was tricky part, find the eggs, grab one, and make it back to Dusk before anyone noticed. He swam back down hall looking from side to side at all the doors. He stopped suddenly in front of one room labeled "Eggs". Hawk snuffed to himself, "These quines are so trusting".

He opened the door, there were shelves and shelves of eggs, Sanddragon eggs were on the far wall. He swam over staring at them all, and quickly picked the one that called to him. Hawk new it was best to go with your instinct when choosing an egg. He had to have some sort of bond with it to make it hatch. He took the Seaweed out from under his shirt and tucked the egg in there instead, added a bit of the Seaweed back to make his tummy look more round again.

He swam from the room, and back to where Dusk was still chatting up the nursery attendants. He hoped no one noticed his absence, or that his belly was a slightly different shape.

Outcome

The nursery guard had just completed his rounds and returned to his post at the front door. His manta waited patiently at his side ready to alert him to any trouble. The manta was specially trained to protect the eggs inside and could even sniff out hidden eggs. The guard could hear voices in one of the offices but paid them no mind, many seaquines visited at this time of year seeking to adopt. Soon the Spectrum Guild member would be here to take another batch of sand dragon eggs to the guild where they would use secret methods to transform them into elemental eggs.

((Hudson Hawk will be caught if he tries to leave the building with the sand dragon egg. Since he was not successful in gaining the egg I thought I would also add the twist that he has nabbed a ordinary sand dragon egg and not an elemental egg, they do look the same.))

Response

As Hawk and Dusk began to swim out of the room and toward the door he felt as though he as being watched. He began looking around and saw the Manta at the door, its eyes were directly on him. He began to get very nervous, the guard at the door smiled as they aproched, but manta began to sniff the air. Hawk quickly looked to Dusk, "Excuse me honey I need to use the restroom before we leave", he turned around and headed into the nearest bathroom.

Once safely in the bathroom Hawk looked around for a window. Nothing, "Oh Marbles" he said almost under his breath. Hawk new he would never make it past that Manta with the egg. With a sigh he took the egg out and placed it under one of the washing bins. He tried to arrange the seaweed in his shirt to look bigger but it just wasnt working. With a considerably smaller belly he left the room. When Hawk passed the guard he mentioned, "I wouldnt go in there for awhile, I really stunk it up".

Attempt 3

After Hawks upgrade to Bandit he has more confidence and even better he now has a group of lowly thief's at his disposal. Instead of getting his own hands dirty he sends them in to retrieve an elemental egg for him. He made sure he picked three of his most skilled thief's, they knew exactly what they were to do to get the egg and what to not do if they were caught. Hawk lined everything out for them perfectly.

It was late at night and SQ1 was to move around back, SQ2 and 3 went in through the front. Nothing seemed amiss and no alarms sounded. With the information Hawk had gained from his previous two attempts they new right where the eggs were kept. SQ2 stayed at the front door to watch for guards while SQ1 moved down the hall to make sure there get-a-way route was clear. SQ3 moved into the room where the eggs were kept and grabbed the biggest one.

SQ3 met up with SQ1 down the hall and they headed for the door SQ2 was looking after.....

Outcome
At first the attempted theft was going well they made it out the door without alerting any guards. Then there was an unfortunate twist of luck. The egg lurched and slipped falling to the ground and rolling into a tight weave coral. There it sat, just out of reach but also safety tucked out of sight. It would remain were it was until some way was devised to retrieve it.

Attempt to hatch egg.

Hawk gently takes his new elemental egg back to his den with Dusk. He isnt quite sure what to do with it know but he hopes Dusk might have some girly type advice for him. When he reached the den Dusk wasnt home. Huffing Hawk set the egg down and gathered up a pile of stolen toys, making a makeshift nest for the egg. He placed the egg gently in the middle and covered it with one of Dusks old gowns. Hawk lay down next to the nest and watched the egg for hours. As the light faded his eyes began to get heavy. Hawk lay his head down next to his new egg and fell asleep

Attempt 2
Hawk wakes to the egg moving underneath him. Why wont it hatch he wonders to himself, beginning to pace back and forth in front of the egg. He makes a check list in his mind of the things the egg should need; warmth, shelter, quite, he gave it all those things. Exasperated Hawk decided he needed to get out of the cave, get his blood pumping, steal something. Hawk was stopped just before leaving his attention pulled back to egg. The egg had stopped shaking it seemed to be waiting for Hawk. Suddenly Hawk had an idea, this egg and him were connected, maybe it was craving some adventure too. Hawk quickly made a sling and tucked the egg inside it and went of to do some pilfering.

Everything went just as planned Hawk gained some much needed coins and he was feeling much calmer. It seemed his egg was more content as well. Taking the very warm egg from the pouch he settled in for the night. Freshly stolen coins and egg tucked carefully in the nest, he lay down next to them.
