Spectrum Path Elementals Breeding Sand Dragons: All elementals come from sand dragon eggs so sand dragon breeding is a good source of income. Sand dragon breeding is a bit different from any of the other pets on the reef. Most sand dragon eggs are not viable on their own and these sleeper eggs must be sold to the Spectrum guild in order to be hatched. The guild currently pays 5k per egg. Clutches range from 1-5 eggs with the higher numbers being less common. On rare occasions a pure egg is included in the clutch and will hatch into a new sand dragon. Elementals: Elemental companions are an essential part of following any spectrum path. They are far more than pets and will be constant companions to their seaquine for life. Each newling hatches from a sand dragon egg and will match the chosen path of their master. They are highly intelligent and by the time they reach the alpha stage they can communicate with their owner. As they mature their level of communication advances from childlike to very sophisticated. All elementals can communicate with other elementals but not with other seaquines. All types have high dexterity and can perform many complex tasks, including writing. Although they each have their own personalities, strengths and weaknesses, they tend to balance the personalities of their masters. The bond between master and elemental is so strong the if the seaquine should die the elemental does not live long after. The stages of life are newling, alpha, beta, and omega. Newlings Newlings are baby elementals and remain babies until their seaquine reaches the advanced level. They do not speak yet. They are very impulsive, but they are already extremely loyal. Each type looks the same at this point but they will change greatly as they grow.
Alphas Alpha stage is reached be feeding your elemental a very special type of cracker. A student is not considered advanced unless they have an elemental in the alpha stage. Alphas are are eager to learn and have strong instincts when it comes to their element. They are very childlike at first but can mature quickly. They are essential to completing many advanced tasks, and to mastering some skills. They each have their own personality and individual markings and colors. Most body colors fit their element but not always.
